Salvation

St. Paul writes in Ephesians 2 that "It is by grace that we have been saved through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast."  In other words, this means that we are people who come to Christ Jesus, needing to be rescued from sin, death, and the power of evil.

We come to Christ, having been convicted by the Law, and knowing our total depravity (brokenness).  This is what makes the gift of salvation all that  much more remarkable:  we have nothing in us that deserves God's love.  Yet like a human parent who cannot and will not turn their back on even a rebellious child, so God continues to love us and by His love, shape us into what He wants us to be.

Salvation is a gift from the Lord Jesus to anyone who calls on His name.  Act 2:21

You can have salvation, and know peace in your heart.  What God looks for a truly repentant and contrite (sorrowful) heart.  Ask Him to be merciful and look on you with His love, and to forgive you and help you change your sinful ways.  We all struggle with falling back into the same old habits of sin By His grace and the power of His Holy Spirit, you can know peace.  Find a Christian spiritual counselor who can talk with  you face to face.  Then you will begin to feel God's love for you.
